CNC Turning & Turn-Mill

OVERVIEW

Precision Turning, Larger Parts

Once a part needs a bigger chuck size, or turning and milling in the same setup, it comes to our CNC turning and turn-mill machines — fewer handling steps, and the tolerance holds as the order scales up.

  • Chuck Size : up to 200 mm
  • Machines on Floor : 3
  • Configuration : Turning + Y-Axis Milling

What Is CNC Turn-Milling

A standard CNC lathe turns a part and stops there — anything needing a flat, a slot, or an off-axis hole has to go to a second machine, with a second setup and a second chance for the tolerance to shift. A turn-mill machine adds a driven tool and, in our case, a Y-axis to that same setup, so turning and milling happen back to back without moving the part. Fewer setups means the finished component holds the same reference point from start to finish — which is exactly what a larger, more complex part needs.

Our CNC Turning & Turn-Mill Machines

We run three CNC turning and turn-mill machines on our floor, all built around a 200mm chuck size and suited to higher-volume, larger-diameter work.

  • Jyoti DX200 (x2) — 200mm chuck size
  • Jyoti AX-200 (with Y-Axis) — 200mm chuck size

Where These Machines Are Used

This is where most of our aerospace and larger textile-machinery components come off the floor — parts that need a bigger chuck size than a sliding head can offer, but still can't afford a second setup on a separate mill. The Y-axis on our AX-200 lets us cut off-centre features — flats, cross-holes, slots — without repositioning the part, which keeps the geometry accurate to the original turning reference instead of stacking up error across two machines.

Why It Matters for Your Order

Turning and milling in one setup only pays off if the final part is actually checked against spec — a tighter process upstream doesn't mean anything if nobody verifies it downstream. Every batch off our CNC turning and turn-mill machines goes through the same in-house measuring process as the rest of our shop before it ships.
